Project Highlights Cerner Millennium Program internally marketed as “Monarch” Projects implemented by my team and I last year included, Registration Scheduling, Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), FirstNet, SurgiNet, PowerChart Maternity, Fetalink, Capacity Management, PowerNotes, Dynamic Documentation, eSignature, St. John’s Sepis Protocol, and APACHE ICU outcomes and resource management and Cerner Work Queue Manager. Health Quest is a Cerner development partner. This year we will complete implementing Cerner Patient Accounting including a CDM review & cleanup, Millennium .19 version upgrade, Clinically Driven Registration, Observational Charging, Care Management, Integrated 3M coding, Upgrade of Cerner Capacity management, Cerner Blood and Breast Milk Barcoding, .21 beta upgrade, Convert the organization to centralized registration, Health Quest will achieve HIMSS Stage 7 certification by the end of 2017 (less than 5% of all healthcare providers in the US have achieved HIMSS stage 7 certification).

Acquisition of The Heart Center Cardiology Practice Working closely with the CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and senior leadership team, I managed the acquisition of a large nationally ranked cardiology practice. This acquisition was part of the health systems foundational strategy. This project was completed on time and budget in a severely compressed timeframe.

DRG (ICD-9) Validation System - Healthcare Payer Project Evaluated, directed and managed the overhaul of the DRG cost-containment business unit for a leading national health care cost containment organization. This project included business process analysis, changes to policies and procedures, and the subsequent creation of new operational systems necessary to support all aspects of the business. The new system was completed and implemented including data conversions from the old systems to support historical information. The entire engagement was completed in four months. ROI was exceeded in 60 days. Today this company is Medicare’s exclusive recovery audit contractor in Region D processing over $300 billion dollars of paid claims annually.
