Good evening! On behalf of the Stow-Munroe Falls School District and the Stow Band Parents Association, tonight we invite you to travel with us “Back to the Future” and enjoy the groovy music that brings us all so many fond memories. We are extremely grateful to the community for the continued support of our band and its programs. The Stow-Munroe Falls music programs support over 500 students in grades 5 – 12. A special thanks to all of the parents who volunteered to make this event so amazing. Also our thanks to Co-chairs Jennifer Biggs and Kem Cook for all their work in organizing this event. We also wish to thank Chris Schrickel for being the “Voice of the Band,” and Amanda Sutton at ACME Fresh Market of Stow for water distributed to the bands.

Band History: Nominated by NAMM as a "Best Community for Music Education" in 2016, the Norwayne Local School District prides itself on establishing excellence in music as well as every subject and activity. The “Bobcat Pride” is an integral part of the mission of the Norwayne Local School District that, at its core, focuses on the unique qualities of each child. In addition to participating in tonight’s event, the Bobcat Pride will also participate in the Wayne County Bandarama as well as the Orrville band Festival. Barberton High School “Musical Magics” Marching Band Barberton, OH 97 Members Colors: Purple & White Director: Celeste Wagner, Asst. Director: Lee Gibson, Assoc. Director: Bernie Williams Color Guard Instructor: Kelly Garrett Drum Majors: Sarah Lowe, Nicholas Ratay, and Rodney Stover Performing: Rock Art. “Daft Punk Medley”; “ Pompeii”; “Shut Up and Dance”; “Uptown Funk”; and “Light 'Em Up.” Band History: Barberton High School Marching band participates in two non-competitive marching band shows each year. Most recently they performed at the Solon Band Bash.

Springfield Spartan Marching Band Akron, OH 132 Members Red & Gray Director: Ernie Cole, Asst. Director: Daniel Wyant, Percussion Instructor: Jack Elliott Color Guard Advisors: Sandy Peters and Sherry Williams Performing: Broadway. “Seasons of Love” from Rent; “Born to Hand Jive/ We Go Together” from Grease; “Music from Oz - Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” from The Wizard of Oz; “Defying Gravity” from Wicked; “Everybody Rejoice” from The Wiz. Band History: The Springfield Spartan Marching Band is performing music from Broadway this year which coincides with their spring trip to Philadelphia and New York City. While in NYC, the band will have the opportunity to perform at the Statue of Liberty. Other places that the Spartans have recently performed are Chicago, Washington DC and Walt Disney World.

Theodore Roosevelt High School Rough Rider Marching Band Kent, OH 155 Members Colors: Red & White Directors: Dr. John Roebke, Mr. Garrett Doty, and Ms. Aundrea Souza Color Guard Advisor: Haylee Trusso Drum Major: Mark Rocco Performing: The Music of Queen. Band History: The Theodore Roosevelt Band Program was established in 1921, under the direction of L.J. Sweet. In the succeeding years the band has grown from 19 students to well over 100. This past spring the Roosevelt bands performed their 94th annual spring concert. The Rough Rider Marching Band maintains a long tradition of high energy, high quality musical entertainment at football games, band shows, and on parade. One of our most cherished traditions is the "Script Kent" post-game show performed each year since 1977 at the last home football game of the season. Following marching season, the Roosevelt Wind Symphony and Concert Band maintain full performance schedules through the school year. We thank Mr. Monroe and the members of the Bulldog Band for the opportunity to perform at the Stow-Munroe Falls Band Show.

Intermission Hudson High School “Swing” Marching Band Hudson, OH 225 Members Blue & White Directors: Bev O’Connor, John Burrington, Neil Lantry, Brian Suntken Hudson Dance Line Advisor: Jennifer Kible Drum Majors: Giancarlo Russo and Karlen Rolsen Band History: The Hudson Band has performed in numerous shows and festivals through the years including the Buckeye Invitational, the Ohio State Marching Band Skull session.

50/50 Raffle Stow-Munroe Falls High School Bulldog Marching Band Stow, OH 237 Members Colors: Maroon & Gold Directors: Brian Monroe, Greg Newman, Sandra Sandman, and Krystal Grossi Student Conductor: Rainy Blantern Performing: Back to the Future. Theme song from Back to the Future; “ Aura Lee”; “Johnny B Goode”; “ Mr Tambourine Man”; “My songs know what you did in the dark”; and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Band History: The SMF Bulldog Marching Band is just one part of the band program which also includes four concert bands, three jazz ensembles, and smaller ensembles. The music department was listed as a best community for music education for the past seven years. This spring the marching band traveled to Florida to perform at Walt Disney World, and will perform at Ohio State’s Buckeye Invitational in October.
